What infrastructure is coming up near Gurgaon?

As of 9 October 2026, two big Gurgaon projects are under construction. One is the Gurugram Metro from Millennium City Centre to Cyber City, with a spur to the Dwarka Expressway; the other is HSIIDC's Global City. The SPR elevated road is approved but has been re-tendered. The Namo Bharat RRTS and two more metro links are still only proposed.

Many roads people still call "upcoming" are already open. The Dwarka Expressway's Haryana section opened in March 2024, and its Delhi section and UER-II in August 2025. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway's first stretch, starting near Sohna, opened in February 2023.

Below is every Gurgaon-area record we hold, with its status and the date that status was checked. Where a date or sanction is missing, we say so rather than guess. We hold no distances or travel times, so none are given.

Which Gurgaon projects are open, under construction or proposed?

Of the 14 records below, 7 are open or partly open. Three are under construction or approved, and 4 are proposed or at consultant stage.

Source: Property Nivesh infrastructure records, status checked on 9 October 2026, compiled from PIB, NHAI, NCRTC, DFCCIL, GMDA and Haryana government sources. The Sector 56 to Panchgaon line comes from a Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation release, not a full project record.

The pattern is clear. The national highways are mostly finished. The rail and metro projects that would change daily commutes inside Gurgaon are at a much earlier stage.

Where does the Namo Bharat RRTS to Gurugram stand?

It's still proposed. RRTS, the Regional Rapid Transit System now branded Namo Bharat, is a fast regional rail network built by NCRTC. Haryana, Rajasthan and Delhi have approved the Delhi-Gurugram-SNB project report, but no Union Cabinet sanction was found as of October 2026.

The record's dates run like this. NCRTC's board approved the project report on 6 December 2018. Haryana approved it in February 2019, Rajasthan on 29 June 2019 and Delhi in August 2019. Delhi's cabinet approved implementation on 7 March 2024, and a revised report went to the housing ministry in April 2025.

Official figures conflict. The 2018 report gave 106 km from Delhi to SNB, the Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behror urban complex, at a base cost of ₹24,975 crore. NCRTC's 2026 folder instead mentions 118 km to Neemrana. The 2018 report's station table names Udyog Vihar, Kherki Daula, Panchgaon and Bawal among others, but the revised route's full station list isn't confirmed.

Two newer signals are worth watching. Our news of 19 October 2026, citing Swarajya and ET Infra, reported that NCRTC expects the Centre to clear the corridor soon. See our news on the Namo Bharat approval. And Hindustan Times reported on 29 September 2026 that DTCP, Haryana's Town and Country Planning Department, had added the corridor to its transit-oriented development policy. Land within 1.5 km of 12 proposed Gurugram stations now falls in that policy's influence area.

A separate Gurugram to Faridabad and Greater Noida Namo Bharat line exists only in news reports in our data. Hindustan Times reported that its project report puts the land need at 109.04 hectares and the trees to be removed at 10,504. We hold no status record for it.

When will the new Gurugram Metro lines open?

No official opening date exists. The Millennium City Centre to Cyber City line has a spur to the Dwarka Expressway at Sector 101. It was under construction as of 9 October 2026. The chief minister said on 5 September 2025 that it would be finished "within the next four years". That points to 2029, but it's our reading, not a stated date.

The Union Cabinet approved the line on 7 June 2023 at 28.5 km with 27 stations. The Prime Minister laid its foundation stone on 16 February 2024, and the Bhoomi Pujan for construction was held on 5 September 2025. Haryana's cabinet approved a revised cost of ₹10,266.54 crore on 18 May 2026, against ₹5,452.72 crore sanctioned in 2023. We found no Union approval of the revised figure.

Progress is early. HMRTC put physical progress at about 11% up to June 2026, and the first 160-tonne U-girder went up near Cyber Park on 29 August 2026. Hindustan Times reported on 6 October 2026 that GMRL had floated a ₹1,662 crore tender for the 14.2 km Sector 9 to Cyber Hub stretch. The work is allowed 30 months from award. Our news on the Phase 2 tender has the station list.

Two more metro links are proposed. The Sector 56 to Panchgaon line is planned at 35.25 km with 28 elevated stations. A 30 December 2025 release said it has state funding approved and its final project report submitted. We cover it in our Panchgaon metro post. The 8.4 km Rezangla Chowk to Dwarka Sector 21 link would serve Sectors 110 and 111. Haryana approved its project report on 19 October 2022, but there's no central sanction on record.

What is happening on the SPR and other Gurgaon roads?

The SPR elevated road is approved but not yet awarded. GMDA approved the 4.2 km NH-48 to Vatika Chowk corridor on 7 March 2026 at ₹755 crore. It then issued a fresh tender on 1 October 2026 at about ₹776.19 crore before GST. Bids are due by 18 November and open on 19 November 2026. The work gets 30 months from award, and the reason for the re-tender isn't stated.

The SPR itself is open. It's an at-grade GMDA road from the NH-48 junction near Kherki Daula, through Vatika Chowk on Sohna Road, to Ghata. A second elevated stretch, Vatika Chowk to Ghata, is at consultant stage, with a tender notice dated 20 June 2026. See our news on the SPR tender.

To the west, NHAI has started the process for a toll plaza at Janaula on the Gurugram-Pataudi-Rewari highway. That's from our news of 30 September 2026, citing Hindustan Times. The same report said the highway is still being finished in parts. We hold no infrastructure record or opening date for it. Our post on upcoming highways near Manesar and Pataudi covers the western roads in detail.

Which major roads near Gurgaon are already open?

The Dwarka Expressway, UER-II and the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway's first stretch are all open. They're no longer upcoming, even if their effect on nearby sectors is still playing out.

  • Dwarka Expressway, Haryana section: 19 km from the Delhi border to Kherki Daula, built for about ₹4,100 crore, inaugurated on 11 March 2024. It crosses Pataudi Road (SH-26) near Harsaru and the Farrukhnagar road (SH-15A) near Basai.
  • Dwarka Expressway, Delhi section: 10.1 km from Shiv Murti to the border, including a tunnel to IGI Airport, inaugurated on 17 August 2025.
  • UER-II: Delhi's Urban Extension Road-II, inaugurated the same day. It links to the Dwarka Expressway at the Delhi-Haryana border.
  • Delhi-Mumbai Expressway: the 246 km Delhi-Dausa-Lalsot section, which starts on the Sohna-Gurugram road near Alipur village, opened on 12 February 2023.
  • DND-Faridabad-Sohna spur: partly open. A Lok Sabha reply of 13 March 2025 listed packages 2 and 3 as completed. No opening dates are recorded, and package 1 isn't confirmed complete. Our news of 20 October 2026 reported an MP saying the final stretch is done; no inauguration is confirmed.

The KMP Expressway has no record of its own in our data. It appears only as a junction. The Delhi-Mumbai Expressway meets it at a cloverleaf interchange at Khalilpur village in Nuh district. Package 3 of the Faridabad-Sohna spur ends at the KMP junction.

What about Global City and the freight corridor?

Global City is HSIIDC's mixed-use township in Sectors 36, 36B, 37 and 37B, beside the Dwarka Expressway and Pataudi Road. HSIIDC is the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation. It's under construction. On 12 August 2026 the chief minister said 80% of physical work was done on the 1,000-acre project, with the rest due by December 2026.

The ₹1,000 crore cost in that statement isn't a sanctioned project cost. Our record also holds no official construction start date and no published results of the December 2023 plot auction. The first phase, per an 11 April 2025 statement, was ₹940 crore on 587 acres, including a 10.7 km utility tunnel.

The Western Dedicated Freight Corridor's NCR stretch, New Rewari to New Dadri, 127 km, has carried goods trains since 31 March 2023. It's freight only, so it matters for warehousing and logistics rather than commuting. Our post on industrial corridors near Gurgaon covers it alongside the DMIC.

How should you judge an infrastructure promise before buying?

Look for the stage, the date and who confirmed it. A project moves from proposal to project report, approval, sanction and funding, tender, contract award, construction and finally opening. Only the last few stages make a real change to daily life likely.

  • Has the body paying for it given sanction? For the RRTS, that means the Union Cabinet.
  • Has a contract been awarded, or only tendered? The SPR elevated road shows a tender can be reissued.
  • Is the finish date official, or worked out from a speech?
  • Where exactly are the stations or exits? We hold no distances, so check the alignment map yourself.
  • What civic basics exist today: water, drains, power and sector roads?
  • Is the seller's price already counting on the project? Ask what similar homes away from it cost.

For how these projects sit against prices, see our Gurgaon infrastructure impact report and the Gurgaon property rates page. If you're shortlisting sectors, our guide to which Gurgaon sectors will develop matches this list to registrations with HRERA, the Haryana Real Estate Regulatory Authority.

Questions
