Stalled — land allotment cancelled; completion moved under YEIDA oversight
YEIDA cancelled Jaiprakash Associates’ Sports City land allotment in February 2020, and the Allahabad High Court upheld that on 10 March 2025, directing YEIDA to take over and complete JAL’s unfinished housing. JAL appealed to the Supreme Court in April 2025 and we found no verdict; separately, JAL was acquired by Adani Enterprises under an insolvency plan approved in 2026, which does not by itself settle the land dispute. We found no confirmed restart of construction or possession in JAL’s own sub-projects (Sportsville, Krowns, Kassia and others), though some buyers in third-party sub-lessee projects are receiving registries under new lease agreements. Jaiprakash Associates Ltd (JAL; company incorporated 1995, part of the Jaypee Group founded by Jaiprakash Gaur) is the developer of Jaypee Greens Sports City around the Buddh International Circuit on YEIDA land. It is a separate company from Jaypee Infratech, whose Wish Town project in Noida went to Suraksha Group; that takeover does not cover Sports City. Since 2026 JAL has been owned by Adani Enterprises under an insolvency resolution plan.
