Illustrative What happened?
Telangana Today reported that the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is building elevated corridors on two routes in Secunderabad Cantonment: National Highway-44 and State Highway-1. On the NH-44 stretch, HMDA officials said most of the 20 planned structural pillars on the first section are structurally complete. Precast girder segments are being cast at yards, ready to be placed on the finished pier caps. The NH-44 corridor is planned at 5.4 km.
According to the same report, surface work at the busy junction where this section begins is finished, including utility shifting, road widening and boundary walls. HMDA is still seeking final clearance from the Airports Authority of India for a later underground section planned below the Begumpet Airport runway.
On SH-1, also called Rajiv Rahadari, the corridor is planned between Gymkhana Grounds and Shamirpet ORR. Telangana Today reported that HMDA has started demolition and excavation at sites free of disputes. Boundary walls at Gymkhana Grounds and at nearby defence establishments are complete after Ministry of Defence clearance.

Potential impact
If both corridors are completed, trips between central Secunderabad and the northern parts of the city should get easier. Localities along these roads could see steadier buyer interest over time. Hyderabad's average price in our data is Rs 9,800 per sq ft, and a better road link is only one of several things that move prices.
The timeline is uncertain. The report mentions a pending airport clearance for the underground section and demolition only at undisputed sites, which suggests parts of the work could still slow down. Construction disruption may also continue near the sites for a while. Treat this as progress on a plan, not a finished road, and do not assume a fixed price gain.
