Yeida Takes Suraksha Dues to NCLT: What It Means for Buyers and Investors in Yeida Area
Yeida has asked the NCLT to push Suraksha Group to clear ₹1,000 crore of farmer compensation it says is unpaid. For buyers in Jaypee Wishtown and nearby land-linked projects, it adds a legal and delivery question to watch.

Illustrative What happened?
Hindustan Times reported that the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) has gone to the National Company Law Tribunal. It wants the tribunal to step in over what it calls a delay by Suraksha Group in paying enhanced land compensation to farmers. Yeida CEO RK Singh was quoted by the paper as saying notices had been issued but the money had not come.
According to Hindustan Times, the total hiked compensation is ₹1,334 crore, a 64.7% increase promised to farmers whose land was acquired. Yeida says ₹334 crore has been paid and ₹1,000 crore is still due. The paper said farmers from at least 40 villages are waiting for this money, and that the amount was meant to be recovered from land allottees, including developers and individual buyers of authority land.
The paper also reported that Suraksha Group took over Jaypee Infratech in 2024 after an NCLT order and is building the delayed Jaypee Wishtown housing projects. Its CEO, Abhijit Gohil, told Hindustan Times that the group will pay the balance and follow its resolution plan, but that it has not yet received possession of some portions of the farmers' land. Payment, he said, would begin once that possession comes.
Which sectors are affected?
- Yeida area, Greater Noida
- Jaypee Wishtown housing projects
- Land-based projects of Suraksha Group
- Farmers of at least 40 villages awaiting compensation
Potential impact
This is a dispute over who pays and when, and the two sides disagree on the cause of the delay. Yeida points to non-payment, while Suraksha points to land possession it says it has not yet received. Nothing in the report says construction has stopped, so it should not be read as a halt to Jaypee Wishtown. Still, an open tribunal matter over a large unpaid sum adds uncertainty about timelines and about how cleanly land title can be passed on in the affected projects.
For pricing, the effect is likely to show up in sentiment before it shows up in numbers. Greater Noida averages ₹7,800 per sq ft in our data, and new buyers in the Yeida belt may ask for steeper discounts or hold back until the matter is clearer. How far this goes depends on what the NCLT decides and whether Suraksha pays on a visible schedule. We cannot say that prices will rise or fall because of this one filing.
