Metro Opening: What It Means for West Chennai Homebuyers in Chennai

What happened?

MagicBricks reported that the first operating part of Chennai Metro Phase II is likely to be opened by the Prime Minister on October 11. The reported stretch is the 14.6 km Poonamallee Bypass-Vadapalani section, which falls under Corridor-4, also called the Yellow Line.

According to the report, this line will give western suburbs a direct Metro link to Vadapalani and onward access to the current Metro system. MagicBricks also noted that the Vadapalani interchange work is still under way, and construction continues at several stations between Alapakkam and Saligramam, so the corridor is not yet fully complete.
