Illustrative What happened?
Hindustan Times reported that PMRDA is trying to get two more stations ready for a visit by the Commissioner of Metro Railway Safety team, which is expected later this month. The corridor has 23 stations in all, and 17 of them have been given provisional safety clearance.
According to the paper, work at stations 13 and 14 is close to done. PMRDA hopes to open them after the line is inaugurated, but only if safety clearance comes through. An additional commissioner at PMRDA, K Manjulakshmi, was quoted as saying the two stations could join the other 17 once the safety team signs off.
The report added that a planned visit by the Prime Minister to Pune district on November 3 was deferred, which leaves the inauguration without a date. Hindustan Times also quoted an IT professional from Model Colony who said commuters to the Hinjewadi IT park have waited long and still have no clue when service will begin.
Which sectors are affected?

Potential impact
A working Metro line usually makes nearby homes more attractive to people who work at the IT park, because the daily commute becomes shorter and more predictable. That can support demand and rents in the catchment over time. None of this is guaranteed, and the effect depends on how many stations actually open and how well they are reached from homes.
The missing opening date matters as much as the progress. Markets often price in a Metro well before it runs, so some of the gain may already be reflected in asking prices. A further slip in the date could cool sentiment for a while, while a firm date may revive buyer interest. Treat this as a line that is nearly ready, not one that is running.
