Haryana Land Record Correction Module: What It Means for Buyers in Haryana
Haryana has opened an online route for fixing minor mistakes in digital land records at the tehsil, so fewer cases wait on the state capital. If it works as described, buyers and sellers of plots and farmland may see fewer title mismatches and registration delays.

Illustrative What happened?
Hindustan Times reported on 2026-10-03 that the Haryana government has started an online correction module in its tehsils. It is meant for routine mistakes in digital revenue records, which until now had to go up to the state headquarters. The financial commissioner, revenue, Sumita Misra, announced it, according to the paper.
As per Hindustan Times, the module covers errors such as a wrongly entered khewat share, a wrong land area, or a khewat or khasra missing from the online record. The patwari files the correction request online. The kanungo checks it against the manual revenue record, and the tehsildar gives final approval before the online entry is changed.
The report adds that the department has set separate paths for different kinds of discrepancy. If the mutation printout is right but was entered wrongly online, the online route applies. If the manual jamabandi itself is wrong, the module will not change it, and the Fard Badar procedure applies instead. Misra said nearly 99% of routine cases should now close at tehsil level; that is an official expectation, not a measured result.
Which sectors are affected?
- Haryana agricultural land
- Haryana residential and commercial plots
- Tehsil revenue offices
- Land registrations and mutations
Potential impact
The most likely effect is on transaction friction, not on prices. A wrong area or a missing khasra in the online record is the sort of mismatch that can stall a registration or make a lender cautious. Settling such errors locally could shorten that wait. It could also lower the time and cost of chasing the headquarters, though the report gives no timelines.
There is no basis here to expect any movement in land values or rents. Errors in the manual jamabandi are explicitly outside the module, so some of the harder title problems will still go through the slower Fard Badar route. The result will also depend on how quickly patwaris, kanungos and tehsildars handle requests. Announced processes do not always run smoothly at the counter, so treat this as a promising procedural change that is yet to be proven.
