Baner-Pashan Link Road Work Resumes: What It Means for Buyers in Baner

PMC says it will restart the remaining work on the Baner-Pashan Link Road after clearing compensation and paperwork. If the project finally moves ahead, it could improve day-to-day access and support demand in Baner and nearby pockets, but the benefit will depend on actual completion.

What happened?

The Indian Express reported that the Pune Municipal Corporation has cleared compensation of about Rs 68 crore and is now set to restart the pending part of the Baner-Pashan Link Road project once land acquisition is finished. The road was sanctioned in 1992, and work began in 2014, but a 200-metre land parcel has kept the last stretch stuck.

According to the report, the road is meant to ease movement for residents in Baner, Pashan, Sutarwadi and nearby areas. The project has also been through court monitoring for years, with the Bombay High Court pushing the civic body to complete land acquisition and finish construction on a set timeline.

Potential impact

If the road work actually restarts and reaches completion, it should make daily travel easier across this part of Pune. That usually helps liveability first, then buyer interest, especially in micro-markets where road access has been a long-standing issue.

For property values, the effect is likely to be gradual rather than immediate. Markets often price in such announcements early, but the real support comes only when land is fully acquired and construction is visibly moving; until then, this remains a plan, not a finished connectivity upgrade.
